About Carolambda
In 1988, a group of recovery members in Columbia, SC, organized a picnic and speaker meeting called "Connie Comes Clean in Columbia." Held on a Sunday in September, this gathering was kicked off with a pink pajama party the previous evening. Although planned to recur in September 1989, the event was postponed to 1990 due to Hurricane Hugo. It was then that Carolambda was born, evolving into a full weekend of recovery dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community. Since moving to its current location at Camp Gravatt in Aiken, SC, in 1990, Carolambda has served as a safe haven for LGBTQ+ recovery members. We invite you to join us each October to experience the love, joy, and laughter that many of us cherish annually.
